Nineteen-year-old British-American actress Ella Bright is enjoying a meteoric rise following her starring role in the recently released Prime Video series, 'Off Campus'. This breakout performance comes after Bright previously portrayed a young Kate Middleton in the 2023 season of Netflix's 'The Crown'.
The college drama 'Off Campus', which premiered on May 13, quickly ascended to the number one spot globally on Prime Video. Within just 12 days, the series amassed 36 million views, establishing itself as Prime Video's third-largest debut series ever. The show is based on Elle Kennedy's bestselling romance novels.
Bright, who plays music major Hannah Wells, shares the screen with Belmont Cameli, who portrays hockey captain Garrett Graham. The first season adapts Kennedy's 2015 book, 'The Deal', detailing Hannah's agreement to tutor Garrett in exchange for them faking a relationship. The series explores complex themes alongside its romantic plotlines.
Previously, at age 16, Bright undertook the 'daunting task' of portraying the Princess of Wales. She worked with a dialect coach to perfect her accent for the role, which she found to be a fun experience. Her guest appearance in 'The Crown' episode 'Alma Mater' marked her first on-screen interaction with the characters of Diana and Prince William.
