Bright, who plays music major Hannah Wells, shares the screen with Belmont Cameli, who portrays hockey captain Garrett Graham. The first season adapts Kennedy's 2015 book, 'The Deal', detailing Hannah's agreement to tutor Garrett in exchange for them faking a relationship. The series explores complex themes alongside its romantic plotlines.
Previously, at age 16, Bright undertook the 'daunting task' of portraying the Princess of Wales. She worked with a dialect coach to perfect her accent for the role, which she found to be a fun experience.
