The Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra is set to present its 2026-27 season, titled "Stories in Sound: Prelude to 80," featuring five diverse concerts. Ticket prices will remain the same as the previous year, ensuring affordability with a "five concerts for the price of four" offer. The season opens on September 13, 2026, with ¡Ritmo Botánico!, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Subsequent performances include "Duel Vi2lity" on November 15, 2026, featuring cellist Khari Joyner, and "Verdi Requiem" on February 14, 2027, with the Camerata Singers and Goshen College Choirs.
On March 14, 2027, guest conductor Michael Stern will lead a "Cinematic Symphony" with music from popular film scores. Season 79 concludes on May 16, 2027, with "Planetary Finale." This season also revives the Elkhart County Symphony Youth Concerto Competition, allowing a student musician to perform as a soloist.
