Elbow frontman reveals 11th album writing is underway

Elbow frontman Guy Garvey has confirmed that the band has commenced writing sessions for their eleventh studio album. Garvey indicated that bandmate Pete Turner has been consistently producing new material, maintaining their usual workflow. He also mentioned that while individual members are engaged in side projects, the focus is shifting towards their next record.

The band is scheduled to perform at London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday, March 23, as part of a concert series supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust. This event is curated by Robert Smith of The Cure. Garvey suggested that new material from the upcoming album is unlikely to be performed at the concert, as the band is considering a cover version and intends to take their time with the new record.

Garvey also hinted at the potential appearance of a special guest during their Royal Albert Hall performance, although confirmation is pending. He expressed strong support for the Teenage Cancer Trust, commending their realistic approach to organizing charity events. Garvey highlighted the band's long-standing relationship with Robert Smith, who has previously expressed admiration for Elbow's music.
