'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' Falters as Box Office Fatigue Grips India

As of November 14, 2025, the Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa-starrer 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' is nearing the end of its theatrical run, with the film showing signs of fatigue at the box office. A similar slowdown is also visible for 'Thamma', the Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer.

Starting this past Monday, both these films, as well as smaller releases like 'The Taj Story', have registered noticeably weak footfalls. The impact of the recent Red Fort blast appears to have discouraged audiences from heading to cinemas across India.

In its second week, 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat' posted a total of ₹16.3 crore. The film's collections have been fluctuating, with Friday (day 18) bringing in ₹70 lakhs, followed by an unexpected upswing on Saturday (day 19) with ₹1.25 crore. Sunday saw further growth to ₹1.5 crore, only for the numbers to soften again on Monday with ₹50 lakhs. The cumulative total for the film now stands at ₹77.30 crore, making it a huge hit, considering its reported budget of ₹25 crore.

Meanwhile, 'Thamma' has crossed the ₹130 crore mark, though it was made on a much higher budget and released in three times more screens than 'Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat'. The latter has now overtaken titles like 'Param Sundari', 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari', 'Bad Newz', and 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' in terms of box office performance.
