A significant piece of the Eiffel Tower's original spiral staircase is scheduled for auction in Paris on May 21. This section, comprising 14 steps and measuring 2.75 meters high, connected the second and third floors of the tower from its opening in 1889 until 1983.
Removed during a major renovation in 1983 when elevators replaced the original stairs, this historic segment has been preserved in a private collection for over 40 years. It has undergone a complete restoration for the sale and is estimated to fetch between €120,000 and €150,000 (approximately $140,000 to $175,000).
