As of November 17, 2025, actor Eddie Murphy, 64, has opened up about his family life in a new Netflix documentary titled "Being Eddie." In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Murphy revealed that his greatest strength as a father is being "always, always present" for his 10 children.
Murphy explained that his kids can locate him at any time of day, saying "Talk to one of my kids anytime of day and ask, 'Where's your dad right now?' and they can look at their watch and tell you literally what part of the house I'm in." The actor, who became a father for the first time in 1989, has children ranging in age from 36 to 6 years old.
Murphy credits a lot of his family's success to his wife, Paige Butcher, whom he married in a small ceremony on the island of Anguilla in 2024 after they began dating in 2012. "Oh, she's at the center of it. She pulled it all together. I got a winner with Paige," he told PEOPLE. The actor previously expressed that having a large blended family "just happened" and is "the best thing ever."
