Eddie Murphy Eager to Celebrate Holidays with Newly-Blended Family

As of November 13, 2025, actor Eddie Murphy is looking forward to spending the upcoming holiday season with his newly-expanded family. Just six months ago, Murphy's son Eric married Martin Lawrence's daughter Jasmin in a private ceremony, officially connecting the two iconic families.

"They just got married a few months ago, so we have yet to see how it's all gonna blend together," Murphy told E! News in an exclusive interview earlier this month. Despite the unknown, the Dreamgirls star is confident their festivities will be "cool" and fun.

While a sequel to Murphy and Lawrence's 1999 Oscar-nominated film Life is unlikely, the pair are not ruling out the possibility of collaborating again. "At the end of Life we were like 90 years old," Murphy joked, but he quipped that an "Afterlife" storyline set in heaven could be an interesting concept to explore.

Regardless of any future projects, the two actors have been embracing their children's relationship even before the couple's May wedding. As Murphy explained, Jasmin has already been welcomed into the family mix for quite some time.
