Ed Sheeran Concerts Canceled by Nor'easter

Ed Sheeran's planned performances on Friday and Saturday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, have been postponed due to an imminent nor'easter. Stage construction was halted Thursday morning as the storm threatens to bring significant wind and rain to the region. The decision to pause construction was made amid concerns for fan safety and the integrity of the stage itself.

This weather-related postponement occurs shortly after widespread controversy regarding Macklemore's removal from the tour. Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell intervened due to nearly 200 complaints about Ticketmaster's difficulty in processing refunds for these shows. Separately, an advocacy group had planned a protest for the second night of Sheeran's scheduled performances.

In solidarity with Macklemore, Ed's backing band and other openers previously withdrew, leading Sheeran to perform solo in Philadelphia. Macklemore had faced criticism for repeatedly chanting "Free Palestine" at prior concert stops, reportedly against explicit warnings. Coincidentally, the weather-related postponements were announced hours after Macklemore launched his "Free Palestine Tour" and criticized Sheeran and stadium owner Robert Kraft.
