East Sussex is set to resonate with music this month as over 2,400 primary school pupils participate in the 'One Voice' Christmas concert series. Eighty-four schools across the county will send their students to perform at renowned venues like the Brighton Dome, Glyndebourne, and De La Warr Pavilion, marking a significant cultural event for the region.
The festival, which commenced on December 2nd and concludes on December 16th, is designed to foster the joy of singing, enhance children's confidence, and cultivate a strong sense of belonging within a musical community. This initiative, delivered by Create Music, highlights the positive impact of collaboration between schools and cultural organizations.
This year's 'One Voice' program boasts an expanded repertoire featuring music from Europe, the USA, and Lebanon, alongside celebrations of Hanukkah. The performances will showcase massed choirs of key stage two pupils, accompanied by a Glyndebourne soloist and young musicians from Create Music's ensembles.
