Earth, Wind & Fire Drummer John Paris Wakes From Coma

Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris has awakened from a medically induced coma, according to a recent statement on Thursday, August 20, 2026. This marks a significant milestone in his recovery journey following a medical emergency that occurred on August 6, 2026, during the Sing A Song All Night Long Tour.

While initial signs of waking were followed by a need for re-sedation, Paris has now woken again with encouraging progress. His vital signs, including blood pressure and breathing, have remained stable. Despite this positive development, he is scheduled for two major surgeries and will continue to be closely monitored in the intensive care unit.

A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to provide financial support for Paris' family as they manage his ongoing health challenges. His wife, Kathy, expressed hope for his recovery, emphasizing that he is fighting daily and has already overcome significant obstacles.
