Content creator Dylan Mulvaney has officially become a Broadway star, making her debut on February 16th at the Lena Horne Theatre. She took on the role of Anne Boleyn in the musical Six, a production that chronicles the lives of King Henry VIII's wives through song. Mulvaney, who gained fame for documenting her transition, expressed profound happiness about her performance, stating it was the 'best night of my entire life.'
Joining Mulvaney on stage was composer Abigail Barlow, who also made her Broadway debut as Katherine Howard. The performance was attended by Mulvaney's supportive friends and family, including actor Joe Locke and her mother. Mulvaney had previously shared her excitement and acknowledged receiving both positive and negative messages regarding her casting, choosing to focus on her performance rather than addressing critics directly.
This Broadway turn follows Mulvaney's off-Broadway engagement in her one-woman show, 'The Least Problematic Woman in the World.' She wrote that show, partly inspired by backlash to a Bud Light partnership, to create opportunities for herself as a transgender performer in theater. Mulvaney holds a BFA in musical theatre and previously toured with 'The Book of Mormon.'
