ABC is set to launch "Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro," a new spinoff series designed to discover the next generation of ballroom stars. This competition will air on ABC and stream on Hulu this summer, featuring up-and-coming professional dancers who will live together and undergo challenging weekly auditions.
The ultimate prize for the contestants is a chance to earn a spot on the main "Dancing With the Stars" competition series for its 35th season. Season 34 winner Robert Irwin is currently in discussions to host the new show, although details remain unconfirmed.
Additional talent is also being considered for the judging panel, with "DWTS" veteran Mark Ballas and his mother, renowned ballroom dancer Shirley Ballas, reportedly being eyed for judging roles. Shirley Ballas is known as "The Queen of Latin" and has served as head judge on BBC One's "Strictly Come Dancing."
