Set for release in 2026, Duppy Detective Tashia aims to bring greater diversity to the gaming industry by centering its story on a Black female protagonist. The game follows Tashia as she navigates a hidden marketplace populated by spirits from Afro-Caribbean folklore, tasked with solving the murder of the spider-God Bredda Anasi.
Award-winning composer Chase Bethea is creating the game's supernatural noir atmosphere with a distinctive score. Inspired by Caribbean culture and detective fiction, Bethea has pioneered a new genre he calls 'Caribbean Noir,' blending cinematic mystery with island rhythms.
Bethea's involvement stems from a long-standing working relationship with developer Spritewrench Studios, founded by Glen Henry. This collaboration has led to multiple projects, including the award-winning On the Peril of Parrots and Sunken Stones, before undertaking Duppy Detective Tashia.
