Abu Dhabi Stars in Dune 3's Epic Conclusion

Abu Dhabi's Liwa Desert has been a key filming location for Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" trilogy, most recently serving as the desert planet Arrakis for "Dune: Part Three." The final film in the series, inspired by Frank Herbert's "Dune Messiah," continues the saga 17 years after the events of "Part Two." Timothée Chalamet reprises his role as Emperor Paul Atreides, grappling with the repercussions of his rule, old alliances, and emerging threats.

The production of "Dune: Part Three" in Abu Dhabi's Liwa Desert involved over 600 UAE-based individuals across its 31-day shoot. Legendary Entertainment praised Abu Dhabi's unique landscapes and the support from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission and Creative Media Authority. The film's production also leveraged Abu Dhabi's significant 35% cashback rebate, a substantial incentive for major film productions. "Dune: Part Three" is set for release on December 18.
