Director Khaitan Teases Fans on Dulhania Franchise's Future

As of October 2025, fans of the Dulhania film franchise, comprising Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, have been eagerly anticipating the return of lead actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt for a third installment. Director Shashank Khaitan, who helmed the previous two films, has now shared an update on the franchise's future.

Khaitan revealed that while he, Dhawan, and Bhatt all want to reunite for another Dulhania film, they are still waiting for the right story to take the beloved series forward. The director emphasized that they feel a strong responsibility towards the franchise and do not want to make another film just for the sake of it. Instead, their aim is to craft a story that feels fresh, fun, and engaging for the audience, who have showered the Dulhania franchise with immense love.

Earlier in 2023, producer Karan Johar had confirmed that the team does intend to continue the Dulhania franchise, describing it as a unique love story that they built from scratch. With the success of the first two films, Johar expressed the team's eagerness to take the franchise to another chapter, though no concrete plans have materialized yet.
