David Dhawan Revisits Iconic Rom-Com's 26th Anniversary

Twenty-six years after its release on March 24, director David Dhawan looks back with affection on the successful romantic comedy "Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge." Dhawan lauded the strong chemistry shared between Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor, who collaborated on multiple films. He fondly remembers their work together on "Judwaa" and "Biwi No. 1," among others.

Dhawan also praised the comedic talent displayed by actors Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, and Anupam Kher, who portrayed the three doting uncles in "Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge." He noted how Puri, often known for serious roles, thoroughly enjoyed his comedic performance in the film. The movie's plot centered on Karisma's character and her uncles' eagerness to arrange her marriage.
