A highly rare Rolex GMT-Master II, prominently featured on the cover of Drake's 2011 album 'Take Care,' is now available for purchase. Vintage watch dealer Eric Wind is offering the one-of-one timepiece, which Drake also wore in the "Marvin's Room" music video and other photoshoots from that era. The watch is an ultra-rare reference 116758SANR, featuring a diamond bezel with 36 baguette diamonds and 12 black sapphires, alongside diamonds on the lugs and crown guards. It is not a custom piece but a factory-made Rolex, with unknown production numbers, though Wind estimates only a few hundred exist globally. The caseback bears a unique OVO owl logo engraving, making this specific watch one of a kind.
Eric Wind, founder of Wind Vintage and a former Christie's specialist, acquired the watch through consignment from a former colleague of Drake's. He is selling it for $500,000, a price significantly elevated by its provenance. Without the Drake connection, Wind estimates its value around $100,000. The sale includes additional memorabilia from the 'Take Care' era, such as the gold owl statue from the album cover, two OVO varsity jackets, and Club Paradise tour merchandise. Wind expressed hope that Drake himself might be the buyer, seeing it as a fitting return to the artist and a significant piece for his collection.
