On October 23rd, 2025, Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel took the stage at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto for the latest stop on his Canadian tour. However, the concert took an unexpected turn when hometown hero Drake appeared on a lower-level balcony and joined Kartel on stage.
Drake proceeded to perform an 8-song set of his biggest hits, including "Hotline Bling," "Controlla," "One Dance," and "Hold On, We're Going Home." During the performance, Drake even walked down to the stage to perform alongside Kartel, much to the excitement of the crowd.
The two artists have been friends for years, and Drake's OVO label is actually presenting Kartel's concerts in Canada this week. The surprise appearance comes ahead of Drake's forthcoming project, "Iceman," which does not yet have a release date.
"We've been rocking and praying and hoping for this day. So, I hope you understand tonight is not just about music. Tonight is not just about seeing two artists," Drake told the audience, emphasizing the significance of the moment.
