Sky has officially announced an upcoming eight-part television series based on Stieg Larsson's globally bestselling Millennium novels. This adaptation is described as a bold and contemporary reimagining, aiming to ground the story in the present while retaining the investigative core of Larsson's original works.
Production for the series is scheduled to commence in Lithuania during the spring. While casting details have not yet been revealed, the creative team includes writers and executive producers Steve Lightfoot and Angela LaManna.
The new series will be broadcast on Sky in the U.K., Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Sony Pictures Television will oversee international distribution, with pre-sale efforts already underway in the U.S.
