D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, an Emmy-nominated star from 'Reservation Dogs,' has been cast in the upcoming Netflix series 'Breakers.' This Australian-based production will also feature Antony Starr, who is additionally serving as an executive producer.
Woon-A-Tai will portray Elliott, a shy teenager from Rhode Island visiting an Australian commune for a surf trip. Oliver Edis and Annabel Wolfe are also joining as series regulars, playing Flynn and Harper, respectively.
Filming for 'Breakers' is currently in progress in Western Australia. The series logline describes two friends on a backpacking trip in Australia who become entangled with a charismatic leader of a surf community.
Pete Jackson is writing and executive producing the series. Other executive producers include Gavin O'Grady, Petra Fried, and Wim De Greef, with Mary Nighy and Ng Choon Ping directing. Clerkenwell Films and BBC Studios Productions Australia are producing.
