Keerthy Suresh's 'Dorothy' Premieres at TIFF 2026

Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has officially announced his landmark 10th directorial project, titled 'Dorothy,' featuring Keerthy Suresh in the lead role. This highly anticipated Tamil film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 25, 2026. Even before its cinematic debut, 'Dorothy' has garnered significant international recognition, earning an official selection for its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Centrepiece section.

Director Subbaraj expressed his profound connection to 'Dorothy,' describing it as a long-cherished project inspired by themes of friendship, love, identity, caste, masculinity, and compassion. He emphasized that the film, while rooted in Tamil Nadu's culture, explores universally relatable human emotions. This personal narrative, driven by deeply human characters rather than spectacle, marks Subbaraj's first film since directing Suriya in 'Retro'. The maestro Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for 'Dorothy'.
