Donna Summer's 1978 classic, "MacArthur Park," has reclaimed the top position on Billboard's Dance Digital Song Sales chart this week. The track experienced a staggering 575% surge in weekly sales, selling 2,000 downloads in the United States during the Feb. 20-26 tracking period.
This sales spike is directly attributed to figure skater Alysa Liu, who performed a version of the song on Feb. 19 during her free skate at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. Liu's performance secured the U.S. its first gold medal in the event since 2002.
Originally a three-week No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978, "MacArthur Park" continues its chart legacy. This marks Summer's fourth posthumous No. 1, following remixes of her 1979 hit "Hot Stuff." The song was penned by Jimmy Webb and first charted in 1968 for Richard Harris.
