From Executive Suite to Donkey Sanctuary: A New King

Ron King, a former media executive, has transformed his career to champion the welfare of donkeys. Inspired by a viral video, King left his executive role to establish Oscar's Place Adoption Center & Sanctuary, an organization devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming donkeys. This remarkable journey is now the subject of a new docuseries titled 'Donkey King,' set to premiere on ABC.

The upcoming 17-episode docuseries will offer viewers an intimate look into the daily operations of Oscar's Place, located in Mendocino County, California. King and a team of dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to save these often-overlooked creatures. To date, the sanctuary has successfully rescued over 440 donkeys, showcasing the profound impact one person's passion can have.

'Donkey King' promises to be more than just a show about animal rescue; it's a celebration of the intelligence, emotion, and humor of donkeys. King believes these animals bring immense joy and hopes the series will touch viewers' hearts. The show debuts January 3 as part of ABC's educational programming block.
