Dolly Parton's Sister Shares Heartfelt "Dolly Momma" Tributes

Singer Freida Parton, the younger sister of the late Dolly Parton, recently paid an emotional tribute to the country music legend. Freida referred to her beloved sister as "Dolly Momma," recounting their deep bond and Dolly's significant role in her life.

Freida shared that Dolly Parton not only comforted her during childhood fears but also stepped in to raise her from the ages of 13 to 18. She fondly recalled Dolly's attempts to convince her to wear wigs during performances at Dollywood. Despite sibling disagreements over the years, Freida emphasized her unwavering love for Dolly.

Last year, Freida had previously asked fans for prayers for Dolly's health, later clarifying it was due to her being "under the weather." Now, following Dolly's passing on August 25th at age 80 after a battle with cancer, Freida is requesting prayers for her grieving family. She expressed that Dolly's absence leaves an "insurmountable" void.

Freida Parton announced she is developing a "very special" project to honor Dolly, aiming to keep her sister's spirit alive and share her legacy with fans. The tribute will serve as a way to keep a piece of Dolly Parton close while sharing her memory. Dolly Parton was laid to rest in a private family ceremony in Nashville on Friday, August 28th. The following day, her niece Jada Star performed "The Orchard" in tribute at the Grand Ole Opry.
