Previously unseen videos from the late Dolly Parton were released this past Thursday (September 10) to celebrate Trucker's Appreciation Week. The country music legend had opened Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop earlier this year in Cornersville, Tennessee, approximately an hour south of Nashville.
Parton, who passed away on August 25 at the age of 80, expressed in the videos that the travel stop was designed to be a "home away from home." It features amenities such as a dog park, a restaurant, a bar, and a lounge, with personal touches like rhinestone instruments and recipes from her cookbooks.
Reflecting on her extensive career since 1967, Parton stated that her own experiences on the road inspired the travel stop. She emphasized the importance of clean restrooms, comfortable seating, snacks, and good meals for musicians, noting that her facility provides all these necessities.
During Trucker's Appreciation Week, running from September 13 to September 19, the travel stop will offer special benefits for truckers. These include complimentary food and drinks, reserved seating, and free coffee and meals for members of the stop's perk program.
