Creativity takes a canine turn in Vadodara this Saturday as about 70 dogs participate in a unique art event. Organized by three local dog lovers, the initiative strives to dismantle stereotypes, emphasizing that street dogs are as intelligent, compassionate, and loyal as their pedigree counterparts. The workshop involves dogs smearing acrylic colors on a canvas sealed in a plastic bag, guided by their favorite treats. The resulting abstract artworks will be displayed, challenging visitors to distinguish between creations by street dogs and pedigree breeds, reinforcing the message of equality.
The event, held on Vasna-Bhayli Road, is spearheaded by organizers Abhishek Borkar, Hardik Sampat, and Adhiraj Shah, with a strong focus on encouraging the adoption of street dogs. Following the event, an exhibition of these unique dog-made artworks is scheduled at an art gallery, marking what organizers claim as the state's inaugural dog-art exhibition. The festivities will also include a fashion show for dogs and a complimentary medical camp, offering a comprehensive celebration of canine companionship and welfare.
