A government doctor from Punjab, Dr. Sunny Ashok, has achieved an unexpected moment in the spotlight after securing a cameo role in the upcoming film 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. The opportunity arose serendipitously on July 8, 2025, when Dr. Ashok was summoned to the film's set near Pakhowal to attend to actor Arjun Rampal.
Rampal had sustained a head injury during the filming of an action sequence. Dr. Ashok, based in Kalakh village, Ludhiana district, assessed the injury and determined it was not severe, alleviating concerns of hospitalization. He later interacted with lead actor Ranveer Singh at Shahnewal Airport.
During his second visit, Dr. Ashok casually asked Ranveer Singh for a photograph. This led to a playful remark from Singh about casting him in the movie, which soon materialized. Director Aditya Dhar required a doctor for a scene involving an injured character played by Singh, and Dr. Ashok was cast on the spot.
The doctor's cameo, though brief, was praised by Dhar for its natural portrayal. Dr. Ashok has since become a local talking point, with friends and acquaintances recognizing him. He fondly recalled Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal as friendly and down-to-earth.
