Summary
- Scott Wolf set to reprise role as Dr. Richard Miller in "Doc"
- Will appear in a multi-episode recurring arc in early 2026
- Will also direct an episode of the Fox medical drama

In a surprising move, the Fox medical drama "Doc" is welcoming back a familiar face. Actor Scott Wolf is set to reprise his role as Dr. Richard Miller, the previous chief of internal medicine at Minneapolis' Westside Hospital, in a multi-episode recurring arc in early 2026.
Richard was a central antagonist for the show's protagonist, Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker), during the first season. His departure came after Amy uncovered that he had lied about her involvement in the death of a patient, when it was actually Richard who made a fatal mistake. This led to Richard's firing as chief and the hospital settling with the patient's wife.
However, the show's co-showrunners, Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg, have now revealed that Richard's story is far from over. "We always knew when Richard got fired that would never be the last of him. But no one expected him to come back to Westside like this -- least of all Amy," they said in a statement.
In addition to his on-screen return, Wolf will also be directing an episode of "Doc" set to premiere in early 2026. This marks a significant development for the actor, who has now expanded his involvement with the show beyond just his acting role.
