In a significant leadership change, Disney Entertainment has announced the hiring of Allison Rawlings as the new head of publicity for its FX network. Rawlings, a former communications executive at NBCUniversal, will be taking over the role from John Solberg, who is set to exit the position in January after a remarkable 28-year tenure.
Rawlings' new responsibilities will include guiding the strategic direction and vision of FX's publicity, communications, and creative services. This encompasses talent relations, awards, events, and photo publicity, as well as overseeing consumer publicity campaigns for FX's original series that stream exclusively on Hulu and Disney+, as well as those that air on the FX and FXX cable channels.
"FX has long been synonymous with exceptional entertainment," Rawlings said in a statement, expressing her excitement about joining the "incredible team" at the network. FX chairman John Landgraf praised Rawlings' "experience, creativity and passion" and her ability to "continue and amplify FX's work and the integrity with which we pursue it."
