16 Aug
Summary
- Disney and F1 extend consumer products deal through 2028.
- Cars franchise joins Mickey Mouse in the F1 merchandise partnership.
- A custom Mickey Mouse helmet raised over $200,000 for charity.

Disney and Formula 1 have extended their consumer products partnership through the 2028 season, announcing the inclusion of Disney and Pixar's Cars franchise. This collaboration, initially launched with Mickey Mouse & Friends in 2025, focuses on licensing and merchandise, not broadcast rights or team ownership. The deal enables the creation of products featuring characters like Lightning McQueen.
The partnership's charitable efforts have been significant. A custom Mickey Mouse-inspired racing helmet, autographed by 20 F1 drivers, was auctioned for approximately $201,000, benefiting Make-A-Wish International. This marked the highest-value charitable item sold through F1 Authentics.
New merchandise, including a Cars Collection, will be available in stages. Attendees at D23 received early access, with wider releases planned for DisneyStore.com on August 14th and the Formula 1 Official Online Store by August 27th, timed before the Italian Grand Prix. Lightning McQueen is also slated for a special appearance at Monza.
