O'Berst, formerly an executive producer on "What It Feels Like for a Girl," is now the Director of Scripted Originals UK. Klimke, who worked on the development of "Wreck," takes on the role of Senior Development Manager, Scripted Originals UK.
Based in London, both will report to Lee Mason, VP of Scripted Content for Disney+ EMEA. Their responsibilities will include identifying, developing, and commissioning original series for both Disney+ and Hulu audiences across the EMEA territory. This strategic expansion aims to enhance the volume and diversity of the streamer's original programming.
The streamer has been actively investing in European originals, with recent productions including "Breslau" from Poland, "Bref.2" in France, "This is Not Hollywood" in Italy, and "Invisible" in Spain. These appointments underscore Disney+'s ambition to build a world-class originals team capable of delivering high-quality, distinctive content that meets audience expectations.
