Disney+ is developing a new pilot titled 'Spaceship Earth,' inspired by the iconic EPCOT attraction. The project is set to feature Catherine Laga'ia, who recently starred in Disney's live-action Moana, and Deacon Phillippe. The narrative centers on a critical mission to avert an imminent global cataclysm. This mission takes an unexpected turn, requiring a small group of teenagers from different eras of Earth's history to band together. These young individuals must confront a threat of immense scale and mystery, one that spans across time itself.
Jason Fuchs and Michael Waldron are the creative forces behind the pilot, with Fuchs also serving as showrunner. Both are executive producing the project, alongside pilot director Lee Toland Krieger and other producers. Catherine Laga'ia, an Australian actress, gained recognition for her role in Moana and has also appeared in Prime Video's 'The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.' Deacon Phillippe is currently filming a Netflix rom-com and previously starred in the indie drama 'Brother Save Us.'
