As part of a newly announced multi-year "Fuel the Magic" collaboration between Disney and Formula 1, Disney Store is set to debut its first F1-themed capsule collection this week. The 25-piece drop, launching on November 8th, blends the prestige of the motorsport with the legacy characters of Mickey & Friends.
Designed by Disney Consumer Products' in-house team, the collection adopts a red, black, and white color palette shared by both Mickey Mouse and Formula 1. The apparel, accessories, and collectibles incorporate racing cues, such as checkerboard trims, track-shaped graphics, and an aerodynamic, slightly edgier version of Mickey Mouse. "He was meant to look fast," says Bobby Kim, the former Hundreds co-founder who now serves as VP of Creative at Disney.
The launch of the Disney-F1 collection is timed to coincide with the sport's splashiest U.S. stop: the Las Vegas Grand Prix. During the event, Mickey & Friends will make a special appearance for select grandstand ticket-holders. This is just one of the many activations planned under the "Fuel the Magic" banner, a campaign designed to bring fans "closer to the magic" through race-week programming, premium product, and crossover storytelling.
