Disney's Dark Fairy Tales: New Romantasy Series

Disney is expanding its storytelling with "Disney Cursed Love," a new romantasy initiative focusing on magical and moody love stories. The series aims to captivate readers with seductive, action-packed adventures intertwined with dark magic and curses.

The inaugural title, "The Curse of a Forsaken Heart," will feature Belle and the Beast. Written by Emily McIntire and illustrated by Samairu, this installment will be available on Webtoon as a webcomic starting at an unannounced date. It is slated for expansion into print formats by 2027.

This initiative marks a continued collaboration between Disney and Webtoon, following over 20 successful comic adaptations. "The Curse of a Forsaken Heart" introduces new characters, Emberlynne and Lucan, whose forbidden romance is key to breaking a kingdom-wide curse. Author Emily McIntire noted the story's focus on transformation and worthiness of love.
