Disney+ Axes Marvel's Wonder Man Series

Marvel's Wonder Man series will not proceed to a second season on Disney+. The cancellation comes after the show's initial season premiered in late January, drawing a substantial 618 million minutes of viewing time in its first week, according to Nielsen. Despite a strong start, the series did not maintain its position in the top 10 streaming originals. Wonder Man received positive reviews from critics and viewers, with lead Yahya Abdul-Mateen II earning an Emmy nomination for his performance.

With Wonder Man's un-renewal, Loki and Daredevil: Born Again are now the sole live-action Marvel series on Disney+ to have run for more than one season. Several other Marvel shows, both animated and live-action, are connected or upcoming, but have not yet achieved multi-season status. Co-creators Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, who were set to return for a second season, also served as executive producers alongside Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and others. Guest was the showrunner, and Cretton directed multiple episodes.
