Summary
- Disney is the first studio to cross $6B globally this year.
- Avatar: Fire and Ash contributed significantly to the milestone.
- This marks Disney's fifth time surpassing $6B at the box office.

Disney Studios has officially crossed the $6 billion mark in worldwide box office earnings, marking a significant achievement for the studio. This impressive figure, with $2.3 billion from domestic markets and $3.65 billion internationally, makes Disney the first and only studio to reach this threshold in the current year. The latest "Avatar" film, "Avatar: Fire and Ash," has been a major driver of this success.
This is the fifth occasion in history that Disney has surpassed $6 billion globally, with previous instances in 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016. The studio's performance this year was bolstered by 16 wide releases, including two films that grossed over $1 billion: "Zootopia 2" and "Lilo & Stitch." Three Marvel Studios films also contributed over $1.3 billion combined.
"Avatar: Fire and Ash" achieved the second-biggest global opening for a Motion Picture Association title this year, following "Zootopia 2." The film also represents the second-largest global opening for director James Cameron. This sustained success underscores Disney's powerful position in the theatrical film industry.
