In October 2025, acclaimed director Carlos López Estrada has wrapped production on his latest feature film, a silent movie titled 'Ded'. Estrada co-wrote the script for 'Ded' with Anna Moskowitz and stars in the film alongside Camila Mendes and Eugenio Derbez.
Estrada is best known for directing Disney's 2021 animated film 'Raya and the Last Dragon', which was nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. During his time at Disney from 2019 to 2022, he was also part of the Story Trust for several other major animated projects, including 'Frozen 2', 'Encanto', 'Strange World', and 'Wish', the latter of which he originated the story for.
Prior to his work at Disney, Estrada broke out with his debut feature 'Blindspotting', which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was released by Lionsgate. His second feature, 'Summertime', also premiered at Sundance in 2020 and was theatrically released the following year. As a producer, Estrada is the founder of Antigravity Academy, a production company focused on creating opportunities for emerging talent in film, television, and beyond.
