The Delhi Blue Pottery Trust's 9th Terra Fest, held just last month, has showcased a wide range of black terracotta pieces, from striking vases to chic lamps, making it an ideal shopping destination for those seeking a minimalist aesthetic.

Terracotta pottery, an age-old art form, is now working to stay relevant. Anuradha Ravindranath, a former trustee of the Delhi Blue Pottery Trust, explains that in recent years, black terracotta has become increasingly popular among urban consumers. Artisans look forward to the Terra Fest event each year to learn about the latest trends and cater to a city-based audience.

One such artisan is Om Prakash Galav, a 15th generation terracotta artist from Rajasthan. He notes that those who truly appreciate the art seek out authentic crafts to purchase during the festival season. The unique shading of red and black, achieved through a natural smoke-based finishing process, adds to the allure of these terracotta pieces.
