Director Prithviraj Reflects on Divisive Reactions to 'Empuraan'

In a recent interview, director Prithviraj Sukumaran reflected on the varied reactions to his film 'Empuraan', the highly anticipated sequel to Mohanlal's 'Lucifer'. Prithviraj acknowledged that the film may not have resonated with everyone, stating that once a movie is released, its true meaning is shaped by the audience's interpretations.

The director openly took responsibility for any shortcomings, saying, "If the audiences got what I was about to convey, then I am happy. But if they have not, then it's completely my failure as a filmmaker. I need to accept it. I should try better for my next film." Prithviraj's candid acceptance of the film's divisive reception has drawn attention, especially as 'Empuraan' was one of the most anticipated sequels in Malayalam cinema.

When asked about the possibility of a third installment in the 'Lucifer' trilogy featuring Mohanlal, Prithviraj expressed his desire to complete the story they had started telling. However, he clarified that his next directorial project will not be the third part of the 'Lucifer' franchise. Prithviraj's upcoming film 'Vilaayath Buddha' is set to release on November 21.
