Supermassive Games has revealed a new live-action trailer for its upcoming horror title, Directive 8020, focusing on its unique Movie Night mode. This local co-op feature allows up to five players to experience the game's full narrative together, passing a single controller as they assume the roles of crew members on the starship Cassiopeia.
Players must work collaboratively to survive numerous threats, including alien infiltrators and catastrophic system failures. The core of the gameplay involves making critical decisions that directly impact who lives and who perishes within the story. Each choice carries significant weight, demanding trust and cooperation among friends.
Furthermore, Directive 8020 will introduce a "Turning Points" feature, enabling players to revisit pivotal narrative moments and explore alternative paths or retry quick-time events. This mechanic offers greater control over the unfolding story. A five-player online multiplayer mode is also planned for a free update after the game's launch, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
Directive 8020 is scheduled to launch on May 12, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC via Steam. The game promises a narrative-driven horror experience where player decisions are paramount to survival.
