Dipika Chikhlia, revered for her portrayal of Sita in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television series 'Ramayan', has commented on the contemporary film adaptation. The release of Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' has naturally drawn comparisons, particularly concerning an action sequence featuring Sai Pallavi as Sita. This particular scene has elicited varied responses from audiences, sparking debate.
Chikhlia, in a recent interview, expressed her thoughts on the controversial action sequence. Referencing the Valmiki and Tulsidas versions of the Ramayana, which formed the basis of her own series, she stated that she does not recall any similar action-oriented scenes. However, she acknowledged that numerous versions of the Ramayana exist, suggesting the filmmakers might have drawn inspiration from a less commonly known iteration.
Separately, Dipika Chikhlia conveyed her appreciation to actor Salman Khan. Khan had, during the trailer launch of 'Maatrubhumi', mentioned watching Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan'. Chikhlia expressed her gratitude for his acknowledgment, highlighting the enduring legacy of the classic television show.
In other news, Dipika Chikhlia's new film, titled 'Notice' and co-starring Arun Govil, is currently available for streaming on Waves OTT.
