Dilip Kumar's ancestral home in Peshawar, Pakistan, is facing significant decay, leading to an urgent call for its restoration.
Sunny Singh, president of the Saragarhi Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, recently visited the historic house and expressed deep concern over its deteriorating condition. He appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to undertake immediate restoration to preserve the birthplace of the renowned actor.
The century-old property, where Dilip Kumar was born, is considered an important link to his early life and Peshawar's cultural history. Despite being declared a national heritage site in July 2014 and a protected monument, the house has continued to decline, with reports indicating that its upper portion has collapsed.
Singh highlighted that many admirers visit the property but are disappointed by its state. He plans to observe Dilip Kumar's birth and death anniversaries at the house and is committed to its preservation for future generations to connect with their cultural heritage.
