Production is underway in Atlanta for the highly anticipated sequel to 'A Different World,' with many original stars returning. Kadeem Hardison as Dwayne Wayne, Jasmine Guy as Whitley Gilbert-Wayne, Darryl M. Bell as Ron Johnson, and Cree Summer as Freddie Brooks are all confirmed to reprise their roles.
Newcomers will join the legacy cast, including Charnele Brown as Kimberly Reese and Jenifer Lewis as Professor Dorothy Dandridge Davenport. The series will also introduce the next generation of Hillman students, with Maleah Joi Moon starring as Deborah, Dwayne and Whitley's daughter, who enters her freshman year seeking to forge her own path.
Debbie Allen, a key director from the original series, will return to direct three episodes, including the premiere. The 10-episode single-cam series, helmed by showrunner Felicia Pride, promises to capture the spirit of the original while introducing new storylines and characters.
