'A Different World' Legacy: HBCU Impact Endures

Original stars Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison are reflecting on their 40-year friendship and the lasting impact of the beloved sitcom 'A Different World.' The series, which began as a spinoff of 'The Cosby Show' in 1987, focused on Denise Huxtable's time at the fictional Hillman College. After its initial run, which concluded in 1993, the show has found new life on Netflix, captivating both original fans and a new audience.

Hardison frequently hears from fans who were inspired to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) because of the show, highlighting its profound influence. Guy and Hardison experienced a welcome homecoming on the set of the new 'A Different World' sequel, which premieres on Netflix on September 24.
