Diego Luna, celebrated for his role in "Star Wars," is set to join the live-action adaptation of Disney's "Tangled." He will star alongside Teagan Croft, Milo Manheim, and Kathryn Hahn in the project, which reimagines the Brothers Grimm fairytale of Rapunzel.
Luna will embody a newly created character for the film. Michael Gracey, the director behind "The Greatest Showman," will helm this adaptation. The screenplay is penned by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor. Filming is scheduled to commence in Spain in June, although a release date has not yet been revealed.
This casting marks another significant project for Luna, who also has the directorial debut "Ashes" premiering at Cannes in 2026 and the Netflix series "Mexico 86" on his upcoming slate. He co-founded the production company La Corriente del Golfo with Gael García Bernal.
