DiCaprio's Latest Thriller Outperforms 2008 Predecessor at Box Office

As of October 11th, 2025, Leonardo DiCaprio's latest thriller, One Battle After Another, has emerged as the most popular movie at the North American box office, consistently retaining the top spot. The 2025 action thriller, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, has collected over $110 million at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing film in PTA's filmography both domestically and globally.

However, the film's massive budget is the primary reason behind its potential failure as a financial success. According to the latest data, One Battle After Another's daily collection has dropped below $1 million for the first time at the domestic box office, and it is set to lose screens in North America due to the upcoming release of Tron: Ares.

Interestingly, the film has already surpassed the box office performance of DiCaprio's 2008 action thriller, Body of Lies, which was a financial flop, collecting only $39.4 million at the domestic box office despite an ensemble cast that included Russell Crowe and Golshifteh Farahani, and being directed by the legendary Ridley Scott.
