DiCaprio's Latest Film Trails Previous Box Office Flop Despite Outgrossing It
9 Nov
Summary
- One Battle After Another surpasses DiCaprio's previous flop Killers of the Flower Moon
- Film expected to lose at least $100 million due to high production and marketing costs
- Underperformance adds another setback to DiCaprio's recent box office struggles

As of November 9th, 2025, Leonardo DiCaprio's latest film, One Battle After Another, has managed to outgross his previous box office flop, the western crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese. However, this feat comes as the new film closes its disappointing theatrical run, marking another underperforming chapter in DiCaprio's recent box office journey.
One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, was initially projected to reach the $200 million mark worldwide. But the outcome has fallen far short of that, with the film's worldwide total now sitting at around $193.7 million, including $68.7 million from domestic markets and $125 million from overseas. Given the steep production and marketing costs, estimated to be between $130 and $175 million, the film is expected to lose at least $100 million.
