Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale have reportedly finalized deals to star in Michael Mann's upcoming film, "Heat 2." The duo is set to portray Vincent Hanna and Chris Shiherlis, respectively, characters previously seen in the original 1995 crime thriller.
Further casting news indicates that Adam Driver is in advanced negotiations to play the film's villain, Otis Wardell. Stephen Graham is also reportedly in talks to take on the role of Neil McCauley, a part originally played by Robert De Niro. The production aims to begin filming in November.
Michael Mann, who penned the novel "Heat 2" with Meg Gardiner, has long intended to adapt it into a film. The story is expected to explore events both preceding and following the original "Heat" narrative. Amazon MGM is involved in the project, which has been in development for several years.
