30 Apr
Summary
- Madras High Court ordered the film's release by June 15.
- Investors agreed to release if revenue goes through escrow.
- Financial oversight and pending dues must be settled.

Chiyaan Vikram's highly anticipated film, Dhruva Natchathiram, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, is finally on the cusp of release after a six-year delay. The Madras High Court has mandated its release by June 15, 2026, addressing the prolonged financial and legal issues that have stalled the project since its 2017 inception.
The court's decision stems from an agreement with investors, K Punniyamoorthy and K Premkumar, who consented to the film's release under strict financial supervision. A dedicated bank account has been ordered for Kondaduvom Entertainment, with a lawyer appointed to oversee all financial transactions, ensuring no partner receives payments without court approval.
Despite this significant progress, director Gautham Menon faces the task of securing additional funds to clear outstanding dues. He must also engage in crucial discussions with theatre owners and other industry stakeholders to finalize the release date. The court has indicated that further time may be granted if the June 15 deadline cannot be met despite diligent efforts.
The film, which completed shooting in 2023, has encountered numerous setbacks, including financial troubles and pandemic-related disruptions. Previous release attempts in November 2023 and February 2024 were aborted due to unresolved financial matters. The ensemble cast includes Vinayakan, Ritu Varma, Parthiban, Simran, and Radikaa Sarathkumar.
