Vikram's Dhruva Natchathiram Release Delayed Again
15 Jun
Summary
- Director seeks 30-day extension for film release from court.
- Film's release delayed due to financial issues for over five years.
- Court order requires financial framework for film's release.

The highly anticipated release of Chiyaan Vikram's spy thriller, Dhruva Natchathiram, has been postponed once more. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is seeking a 30-day extension from the Madras High Court, stating he cannot meet the previously ordered June 15, 2026 deadline due to ongoing financial complications spanning more than five years.
The court had established a financial framework with observers to oversee all transactions for the film's release. Menon was granted liberty to request more time if the stipulated deadline was unachievable. The film's lengthy legal troubles originated from a 2018 dispute over rights between investors and the producer, leading to injunctions.
Dhruva Natchathiram, which began production in 2017, has encountered numerous setbacks including financial hurdles and pandemic-related delays. Despite completing its shooting in 2023, pending financial obligations caused its planned November 2023 release to be canceled. Menon's current request means the wait for the film continues, with no new release date announced.
